When I developed a photo series of destroyed analogue pictures for the “A Change Is Gonna Come” project I secondarily took a photo series in which I am seen as a disrespectful person in a waiting room. The theme of this series was respect as well, however its focus was on the term “prejudice” and how a person’s appearance can affect the opinion of strangers. I asked myself the question: “What does a respectful or rather a disrespectful person look like?” In the small booklet that has emerged from these photos, typography has been integrated. The text printed on foil shows the thoughts of the person sitting opposite the “disrespectful” person in the picture. The thoughts of the “disrespectful” person are to be read on the backside of the picture. The two silent monologues end with a conversation that concludes with the result that the “disrespectful” person isn’t so rude after all.
Als ich für das «A Change Is Gonna Come»-Projekt eine Fotoserie von verwüsteten Analogbildern erstellt habe, ist nebenbei eine Fotoserie entstanden, in der man mich als respektlose Person in einem Wartezimmer sieht. Das Oberthema dieser Serie war ebenfalls Respekt, jedoch dreht es sich hauptsächlich um den Begriff «Vorurteile» und wie das Auftreten einer Person die Meinung von fremden Menschen beeinflussen kann. Dafür stellte ich mir die Frage: «Wie sieht eine respektvolle, beziehungsweise eine respektlose Person aus?». In dem kleinen Büchlein, welches aus diesen Fotos entstanden ist, wurde grosszügige Typografie eingebaut. Der auf Folie gedruckte Text zeigt die Gedanken der Person, die gegenüber der «respektlosen» Person im Bild sitzt. Auf der jeweiligen Rückseite dieses Bildes sind die Gedanken der «respektlosen» Person zu lesen. Die zwei stummen Monologe enden in einer Konversation, die aufzeigt, dass die «respektlose» Person doch nicht so unhöflich ist.
